New Years Eve

New Years this year was a treat.   Me and Katie decided the only way to properly bring in the new year was by watching Rocky.  So we planned the event.  We started by making french bread french toast.  This is a classic meal that I am eternally grateful to Juel for exposing us to. It was DIVINE.  After that we began the main event. We somehow convinced Merrill and Matt that they had to join us for the occasion.  They pretended to be excited about it, but they did not throughly enjoy the movies.  I am surprised to say that the wrestlers make the Rocky Marathon.  It was not the same without them.  Matt and Merrill were troopers and stayed through the first four movies.  We didn't actually make it through all six of them this time.

After Matt and Merrill left us Me, katie, and Ashley sat around, drove to taco bell,  and transferred music on itunes.  At 11:00 we decided that it was new years in Texas so we poured our bubble cider, made a toast, and welcomed in the new year.  Our New Years resolution is to have a date next New Years Eve.

Christmas

Christmas Eve was quite the event at our house this year. For the last few years it has been just my family, but this year my family from Vegas came to join us.
Our traditional Christmas Eve consists of a sub sandwhich, homemade french fry, and potatoe salad meal. This year Cade got a hot dog maker so we added that to the meal. It was a treat!

Dinner was followed with the Nativity story. We add hand puppets to make the story come to life. I got to be a wisemen this year.

Body Worlds!

Last year sometime Katie and I discovered the art of Body Worlds. We spent a fair amount of time looking up how they exactly perserved the body and what not. So of course when it came to Salt Lake City we had to go. My cousin Missy came with us on the adventure. We rode trax down to Salt Lake. Trax is always a treat and a lot easier than braving the streets of the city.....
Body Worlds was awesome. Totally worth the price. They didn't allow photography inside the exhibit which was a let down. We had planned to pose with the bodies. I had to settle with a picture of the outside.

Afterwards we ventured to a local dinner of sorts. I think it was called Hires. It was good but not quite JCW's. I am a bit biased though because JCW's will always have a place in my heart.

Since we were in the area we stopped by and looked at the lights. They are always pretty and a must see of the season. We actually didn't spend much time looking at them.

To complete the day and to warm our insides we finished our trip at Lamb's Cafe. Kelsie loves this place and since she met up with us to look at the lights, we made the stop.
