I've been a pretty lame blogger lately... But not to much has been happening. I survived finals! Things were pretty hectic between working almost full time and school, but I managed to keep somewhat sane.

I spend a lot of time working aka making bows. For a while I wasn't particularly loving my job with some of the changes that were being made, but lately I have grown to really like slash love it. (I got my own bow maker and clip for christmas so I could make them from home if I wanted to. Thank you santa!) Bow making has become quite fun and I have gotten pretty good at it. Not to mention I have gotten to know the girls I work with pretty well and we have become a tight knit group. I think I will continue to work there over the summer and onto next school year.
Besides work I have been spending the break with these lovely faces...

Tis the season

After Thanksgiving break I was a bit sad to go back to my apartment due to its lack of holiday decorations. It just doesn't feel like christmas if there is no tree, stockings, nativities and lights. Lucky for me my wonderful mother bought me a tree yesterday to put up in my apartment!


After getting the tree all decorated and drinking some hot chocolate, Selina and I were still feeling festive so we made snow flakes to hang from the ceiling.
I love christmas!

The problem continues

This is just one of the cups of dead fruit flies... We have two of these bowls out and three other smaller bowls. They each catch about this number of fruit flies each day... We still can't figure out where they are all coming from!

Drosophilas

Our apartment has had a bit of a fruit fly problem ever since we moved in. (very gross) At first we thought possibly it was due to dishes in the sink and the garbage can.... but they stick around no matter how clean we keep things. Now we just blame it on how ghetto our apartment is. Bridgette and Selina finally hit their cracking point yesterday and googled home remedies to get rid of our fruit fly friends. Vinegar and soap.

As you can see this one has been successful. Overall though the vinegar has proven to be most successful. Hopefully between these methods and the cold they will die off.

Alex was baptized yesterday. It was an amazing thing to witness and be a part of. I am so happy for him. I love this kid!!!

Silent film

I have officially experienced my first silent film. BYU hosts an organ performance to a silent film once a semester and my friend mike got us tickets. The movie of choice was the Hunchback of Notre Dame. It was much different from the disney movie.... the ending was not so much happy. The acting was amazingly cheesy and over the top! Loved it!
Some of my favorite people! Ashley dressed the part without even knowing what the movie was going to be.

Man in the Mirror...

"This is it" premiered Tuesday night and thanks to Melissa I got to see it opening night! It was a glorious event and the whole mj crew was there! Don't worry that we all assumed that everyone would be as anxious as us to get to the movie. We were there more than two hours early. We were the first and only ones there.... Obviously we are his biggest fans.
We killed some time eating cafe rio and cookies.

The movie was great! My love for him grew!!! It basically was compiled footage of every song he was going to perform. It was only his rehearsals, but he still was amazing! He ended the movie with my favorite song "Man in the Mirror". I am still shocked that he died because he seemed so healthy during the whole movie. Thanks Melissa for getting us the tickets!!!

Wingers and a scary movie make for a great Friday night!

Fall!

Reasons why I love Fall.....

1. I get to break out all of my sweaters... I love them!

2. It puts me in the mood to listen to John Mayer and Matt Nathanson

3. All the colors!

4. I get to drive with the windows down and my heater on. Not sure why I love this, but I do...

5. The smell of the crisp air.

6. I start to count down for the Holidays!

One year older!

Thanks to some amazing roomates and Mindy I had a great Birthday! The festivities began with a breakfast cooked by Selina, Cassi and Bridgette. We all had an early breakfast before all of us headed to class. Selina makes great chocolate chip pancakes! Later in the afternoon Mindy took me to get my toes done and a movie. We went to see couples retreat. Didn't love it, but didn't hate it... Not sure if I would tell others to go and see it. To finish off the day a bunch of us went to Tucano's. So good, but I felt ill afterwards. Worth it though! P.s Tucano gives a discount to students if they have their ids!

Determined...

This is the year that I actually use slash conquer my fear and hate of the treadmill. I have always hated running, but always am really jealous of people who have the endurance to do it. Well Selina lent me a week pass at 24-hour fitness and today I will buy a pass. I can officially run one mile without stopping (a very slow mile, but a mile none the less) Selina said she can have me running 5 miles without stopping by the end of the school year!

Watched way too much Gossip Girl with Bridgette and Selina... Too bad we all have midterms this week so we are trading gossip girl time for some quiet studying time.... (we'll see if we can resist watching)Let Cassi color my hair... She was pretty proud of the results.

Started hanging out with these guys again every Tuesday and Thursday for a few hours. Love them and missed them. Glad to be back!!!

Obsessed

Perhaps this is what Selina, Bridgette and I do every night. It has become a serious problem. Lucky for me I have watched most of season one so I can semi work on homework as we watch. I can't wait for us to get to season 2. Love it! XOXO

My Apartment

Here are some pictures of my new apartment!

I couldn't have asked for a better living situation. My roomates are all so awesome and we are the perfect combination of personalities. Love them!

Today my car got towed. It costed a grand total of 150 to get it back. Hopefully this does not set the tone of my week. It's only Monday....

Moved in

After two car loads down to Provo, I am officially moved in! Despite what the picture depicts, all of my stuff fits nicely into my room. Selina didn't have near as much junk as me and was great about sharing the extra space. I have a feeling she is going to be a great roomie! And it only took us an hour or so to put together our room.

(I haven't taken any pictures of the rest of the apartment because not everyone is moved in yet and things are still in boxes, but some will come soon)

Whoops

I have been sharing my car with Russ through the summer because his car malfunctions randomly at stop lights... Little did I know it the switch up would cause confussion. I was about to leave to nanny for the weekend and I found this lovely surprise. Wrong car..... funny though

Knight for life!

During High School I didn't really know anyone on the football team so I didn't enjoy going to the games so much... Well I did know people, but only because I went to school with them. I forgot how much fun it is to watch my siblings play. I actually managed to sit through the whole game, cheered really loudly and enjoyed watching the game... The game didn't really go so well, but Russ caught the ball a few times. I am hoping the team does a little better after preseason.... Go Knights!!!

Packing!!!

Ah have I mentioned how much I love to pack!!!! I pack extremely early for any event... pathetic I know, but I have officially started packing up my room and am getting so excited to live in an apartment again.

Counting down....

I am so ready to be back in school... It is ridiculous! Luckily I only have 21 more days until I move down to Provo and then school starts two days after. It is finally almost here!

Tootsie Roast

Me and katie have been wanting to do a campfire night all summer and we finally planned it. We gathered a crowd, food and went up.
Ted was the one picked to start the fire... He did a great job.

We went all out with the food. Hot dogs, chips, marshmellows, cookies, drinks, starbursts, and tootsie rolls were involved. Matt won the award for the perfect marshmellow roast and smore presentation. He had serious skill.

So one day I had this thought come to me.... Startbursts are great on the campfire... I love tootsie rolls more than starbursts... I wonder if tootsie rolls would taste as delightful. I bought a bag of tootsie rolls so we could give it a try.

I am not going to lie. It didn't turn out as good as hoped. It was still fun to give it a try. The taste doesn't really taste different roasted. Let down.

Overall the night was great. Ah I love the mountains!
I love campfires! I always feel outdoorsy when I am at one. That is about the most outdoorsy I get. We had a great group and the night ended with a bang. Three forest rangers put an end to our night at 9:40... who knew that the canyon was closed so early.

Vegas

For the weekend of the 24th I decided to go on a rode trip to Vegas with my cousins. Thursday we loaded up our stuff in the car and headed down.

It was a great get a way. We went shopping, ate good food, went to a high school musical 2 play, more shopping, a few sonic trips, speed scrabble slash take two and movies. I love vacations, even if they are just for a weekend.
