New Years Eve

New Years this year was a treat.   Me and Katie decided the only way to properly bring in the new year was by watching Rocky.  So we planned the event.  We started by making french bread french toast.  This is a classic meal that I am eternally grateful to Juel for exposing us to. It was DIVINE.  After that we began the main event. We somehow convinced Merrill and Matt that they had to join us for the occasion.  They pretended to be excited about it, but they did not throughly enjoy the movies.  I am surprised to say that the wrestlers make the Rocky Marathon.  It was not the same without them.  Matt and Merrill were troopers and stayed through the first four movies.  We didn't actually make it through all six of them this time.

After Matt and Merrill left us Me, katie, and Ashley sat around, drove to taco bell,  and transferred music on itunes.  At 11:00 we decided that it was new years in Texas so we poured our bubble cider, made a toast, and welcomed in the new year.  Our New Years resolution is to have a date next New Years Eve.

Christmas

Christmas Eve was quite the event at our house this year. For the last few years it has been just my family, but this year my family from Vegas came to join us.
Our traditional Christmas Eve consists of a sub sandwhich, homemade french fry, and potatoe salad meal. This year Cade got a hot dog maker so we added that to the meal. It was a treat!

Dinner was followed with the Nativity story. We add hand puppets to make the story come to life. I got to be a wisemen this year.

Body Worlds!

Last year sometime Katie and I discovered the art of Body Worlds. We spent a fair amount of time looking up how they exactly perserved the body and what not. So of course when it came to Salt Lake City we had to go. My cousin Missy came with us on the adventure. We rode trax down to Salt Lake. Trax is always a treat and a lot easier than braving the streets of the city.....
Body Worlds was awesome. Totally worth the price. They didn't allow photography inside the exhibit which was a let down. We had planned to pose with the bodies. I had to settle with a picture of the outside.

Afterwards we ventured to a local dinner of sorts. I think it was called Hires. It was good but not quite JCW's. I am a bit biased though because JCW's will always have a place in my heart.

Since we were in the area we stopped by and looked at the lights. They are always pretty and a must see of the season. We actually didn't spend much time looking at them.

To complete the day and to warm our insides we finished our trip at Lamb's Cafe. Kelsie loves this place and since she met up with us to look at the lights, we made the stop.

Finals are over!

I survived Finals!!!!

Care free days

So perhaps with finals here I am surprisingly stressfree..... I am not sure that is a good thing but I am in good spirits. I have one final tomorrow and two on thursday. The reality has not hit yet. I will let you know how I feel after the finals pass.

final 4

With finals approaching and another roomate leaving, my apartment decided to have a final carefree hangout. The hangout included a chickflick marathon. All the matresses were placed in the living room (which still haven't been moved....) and we watched She's the man, How to lose a guy in ten days and then we finished it off with John Tucker must die. (who needs to study these days...)
This is the final four surviving roomates. It includes Sarah (who will be leaving us at the break), me, kelsie and marchele. Don't mind that the wall art we have going on gives me mickey ears....

We also had a nice dinner with christmas gift exchange. Sarah is a wonderful cook and is always sharing her yummy food. She doesn't hide her light under a bushel.

This was dinner. Yummo. She will be missed. And then there was three.....

And then there were 4.....

So perhaps another roomie moved out today. She walked in and announced she was moving out now and not to take it personally. Now there are only 4 of us. I am thinking I will have three new roomies next semester...... it should be a good one. Go college!

Rival Game

I lucked out and got to the big game! I have never seen anything like it..... The intesity was out of control and the fans were crazy. I had never experienced Ute fans before and it was quite the experience. It turned out the guy who sold the tickets to us actually sold us fake tickets... so our seats didn't exist. That made it just that much better. I examined my ticket today and noticed white-out and pen used on it. It gave me a good laugh. He earned those tickets though because they looked legit.

It all worked out though and we had a good view. The game was awesome!!!!

Baby it's cold outside....

So the weather here has started to get a bit chilly. Therefore that means I get to wear hats and sweaters. For my birthday I bought some clothes for the cold Logan weather and her is my collection. I love winter clothes!

Turkey Hat

In honor of Turkey hat man (refer to katies blog) , Kika and I made turkey hats today. I didn't have my camera with me at work or else she would have joined me for the picture.

Into the Woods.....

My dear roomie Sarah had four tickets to the Hale theatre production Into the Woods. She invited me and Kelsie to come along. It was a lot of fun to go out on the town. It was a bigger production than the one in Provo. I do however miss the days when my Nana bought the fam season tickets... Oh the good times.

Sewing Project

One of my first weekends up here I went to D.I with my roomate Kelsie. Among the items there I found a dress. I loved the pattern but the dress was a couple of sizes to big. I bought the dress anyways and figured I would resize it. Well time passed and I didn't do anything about the dress. This weekend I brought out my sewing machine and decided it was time to fix that. Here is the result of my labors. I was pretty excited about how it turned out. I have to say it is some of my best work yet. I can't wait for this upcoming summer where I am going to learn how to make clothing from patterns!!!!

Long Distance Relationship.......

I have been spending a lot of time on the phone with mein bester fruend Katie. As a consquence her phone bill has gone up. Nobody has complained about my mintue usage yet...... I am thinking UVU is in my future.

Election Day!!!

I officially voted for the first time!!! I have to say it was a very positive experience. I left my apartment at 7:30 because I heard the line on campus to vote was really long. Little did I know that they have a voting station in the Lundstrom which is located right next to my apartment. I left to vote at 7:30 and was back to my apartment by 8! Happy day and God bless America!!!

Redecorating

Today I was in a project mood and I started to rearrange all the furniture in the living room. It started by moving the couch and chairs. Then I started to clean and organize shelves. Eventually my roomie Sarah joined in the festivities and together we decided that our apartment was really bland. So we went to ross and bought stuff to decorate!!!
Here is the final product. The things hanging on the wall are actually place mates that we turned into wall art. The couches are covered with sheets and the curtains are leopard print and were on sale for $3!! I felt vert positive about the change!!!

The Stairwell

My apartment is convienantly located right next to the stair well. It had proved to be handie while carrying groceries up or my laundry. I appreciated it. Not only does the stair well prove to be convienantly located, but it provides much entertainment. I never know what I am going to see or who I am going to run into.
Example one: You can't tell from the picture, but over the week the lights went out in the stairwell. It wasn't noticable in the day light, but it proved to be an adrenaline rush at night. I had to go to a 9:30 movie for a class and thus it was late when I ventured into the stairwell. I can say I made really good timing up the four flights of stairs.

Example two: lovers quarells. I have had very good timing with my stairwell entrances. I have happened upon two awkward stairwell fights that involved my roomies. They can be pretty intense.

My final example is singing. Today as me, Katie, and Kelsie were going to get Aggie Icecream and we happened across this. He is one of the boys in the apartment of the " 4 ordained". Sadly he is not a member of the gospel boy band.

Girls Weekend

So I told Shelli that people wouldn't be seeing these pictures, but I was looking through them and I couldn't help but post them. For Fall break the Cluff invited me to there girls retreat. It was a lot of fun and full of activities. We did everything from shopping, bowling (which was embarrassing, but I surprisingly had a good bowling day), pedicures, and a play. It was a much needed break and I quite enjoyed myself. So here are my picture of the weekend. Perhaps Shelli and I took a lot of ourselves. I have to say we look like future models......
