Upgrade

So for the last month me and kelsie have been sleeping like this......

Our solution was to make our bed a double.

New York City

So a little update on my life.... I have been applying to nannying positions and got a offer from a family in Germany. I had a few phone interviews with them and they wanted to meet me in person. The parent were vacationing in New York City for a week and wanted to fly me out there. So I recruited a friend to come along and we ventured off. Here is the view of our first hotel. We flew in really late Thursday night and booked a hotel close to the airport. It was an expensive cab ride to the hotel, but luckily for us it was located right next to the subway so we didn't have to walk far in the morning.

This is hotel number two. It was extremely small, but super chic. It was a kind of upgraded hostile. It had the bunk bed and the sink. It was great though. We checked in Friday morning and then got all dressed up for my interview.

After my interview Friday morning me and Juel had the rest of the day to run around. Our first stop was Central Park. It was the perfect day to go. The weather was beautiful and so was the park.

The variety of people we saw was classic. In just this one picture we have a cross country skier and a lady doing yoga. I pretended to have Juel pose so we could get the shot.

The next stop was central station. We didn't spend to much time here, but we did spend a lot of time on the subway. I love the subway and Juel was the master of finding her way around on it. The first day we were the only white people we saw. Let's just say we stood out. We did see some street dancers (which I have a film of. I will be posting it soon), a rat, multiple bands, homeless and huge black men. However I have to say my favorite part was when people would ask us for directions. I was proud to blend in and look like a city folk. (Juel would always have to answer because I really had no idea where anything was located....)

We did make a stop in China town. Juel was a little hesitant to pull out the camera in this area,but I did manage a shot. I have to say if I had a lot of money I would spend hours on canal street buying purses and jeans.

To finish our day off we met up with some of Juels family friends. They took us to dinner at some little swedish resteraunt located on the first paved street in New York City! I ate the best swedish meatballs there! It was divine.

On our way home we passed Tiffanys. Someday I dream of owning a piece of jewelry from there! One day maybe.......

So some of my historical nerdy side came out and I couldn't help but take pictures. Here is the place were George Washington gave his inaguration speech. We also saw the pew that he sat in at church.

This is Alexander Hamilton's grave stone. It was a great find! I almost wet my pants with excitement when I spotted it! Juel and I decided that we need to reread our history books so that we can brush up on our facts.

A New York trip would not be complete without cheesecake. There is this delicious little bakery on broadway called Roxys that sells D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S cheese cake. It is worth every penny and calorie!

Day two- We decided to hit up ground zero. We didn't make it to the museum (it cost $15 dollars for adults) ,but went to St. Peters church. They have a memorial set up inside. The church was beautiful.

After ground zero me and Juel didn't have any other destinations in mind. So we just walked around the city. I think we walked over 40 blocks and soaked in the city. Here is another item I wouldn't mind owning, Jimmy Choo shoes.

I felt like a real city person sipping my ho cho and walking around. I have never seen more starbucks in my life. There is literally one on every corner.

Another bakery........ they are also on every corner and I couldn't resist.

The airport home! I have to say this was one of my favorite trips and the most adventurous thing I have done. It was so great! Me and Juel are thinking we will have to repeat this trip again!

So the interview went well. The family is awesome! They have two kids named Franz (2) and Lena (4). I now have to decide if I want to go or not. It isn't a high paying job, but I am going to ask for more money. I would be living in Dessau for a year taking German classes, a pilates class, and would be spending the summer in Italy in a condo. It could be an experience of a life time. What are your thought?

Dishwasher!!!

Yo querro taco bell?

Kelsie has been on this Taco bell sauce kick. Last week she gave in to her cravings and went and stole some of the sauce from Taco Bell with Marchele.

Her supply didn't last long (perhaps I was involved with that....) So tonight for our Friday night activity we went to Taco Bell to resupply.
I have to say we managed pretty well (only a few are pictured above). I think our supply is going to last for at least two weeks. Let's just say we will be living off Taco Bell sauce and cheese tortillas. Yummo!

The 4 ordained

There is a church boy band that lives on the first floor of my building. I have been so lucky to get to know them and learn to love their boy bandness. They sing at a lot of church events, but I had missed the ones where they sang for my ward. Today however, I totally scored and they sang during sunday school. I have to say I was truely impressed!!! Get out of town........

Last night at approximately 2:30 a.m. (I know that is a rediculous time for me to be up) I was getting ready for bed. My new roomies Sara and Liz yelled from the bedroom to informed me not to be alarmed if I woke up and they weren't here. They had made some sort of plans to drive to Arizona, pick up some random guy (they had never actually met him just talked to him online slash texting), drive back with him and then let him live at our apartment for the week. They asked me if I was ok with the plan. Me being really tired and slightly not in the best of spirits to deal with the situation, told them that I was too tired to give them a response. My logic behind that was that they would decide it was too late to drive somewhere and then they would just go to sleep..... When I woke up this morning I happened upon the note shown abouve...Let's just say I was not too excited about the plan that they decided to carryout. Luckily, after not hearing from them at all, I decided to text them to see what was going on and they informed me that they took the trip, but decided to not bring him back. That could have been a bad situation.

I have this syndrome that I cannot pack lightly. I was only home for three weeks and over packed ever so slightly. I ended up filling up three of these total..... I am such a girl.
